Scott
Spangler recently joined ARM Partners as assistant vice
president. Scott’s primary role will be the
Gallagher liaison to ARM which will include finding new
programs, products, and services to introduce to the ARM
agents, and promoting the ARM relationship within the various
operations at Gallagher. Though Paul Ross will continue
to be involved with ARM Partners as vice president, he’ll
be taking on new responsibilities within Gallagher’s
Specialty Marketing & International Division.
Scott joined Gallagher in 1999 as a marketing representative
with ISRS. In 2001, he was promoted to Manager of the ISRS
Commercial Lines Department. Prior to joining Gallagher,
Scott worked nine years as a retail broker. He launched
his career in the insurance
industry in 1984 working for six years as a commercial
underwriter with Chubb and later Zurich.

From
nearly day one on the job with Gallagher, Scott was aware
of the newly developing ARM partnership and knew he would
be working with ARM agents. Scott’s involvement in
the infancy stage of ARM Partners will help immensely in
navigating his new role. During the past 5-1/2 years, he’s
developed an appreciation of ARM agent needs as well as
what Gallagher seeks from collaboration. Considering his
experience in underwriting, wholesale brokerage, and retail
brokerage, Scott comes to this role equipped with a working
knowledge of the full equation. He can truly relate to
perspectives of both the carriers and agents.
The goal for year end 2005 is to pump $100 million of
ARM premium through Gallagher. “There are a number
of ARM agents who regularly funnel business because they
have developed a comfort level working with Gallagher,” Scott
observes. “In order to reach the $100 million mark,
we need to grow the participation of both sides of this
partnership.” Continuing to educate ARM agents both
on the state and national levels will be part of his “here’s
what Gallagher can do for you” campaign.
