Larry
Johnson is the newly elected Chairman of ARM. He serves
as principal and vice president of Universal Insurance
Agency where his primary focus is sales and management.
ARM membership became part of Larry’s resources
when Universal Insurance Agency joined ARM of Oklahoma
in 1988. He recalls at that time their agency was
impressed by other member agencies and looked at ARM membership
as a way to grow and add value. Through the use of
the ARM network and the help of their state executive who,
Larry feels is always working to help to identify new markets
and opportunities, the agency has been able to write new
accounts and do a better job of providing quality products
to existing clients.

Throughout
his time as an ARM member, Larry has held numerous positions
in the organization. He was treasurer and president
for ARM of Oklahoma in the early years of his membership,
and later held the same offices for ARM of Mid America. He
became a member of the national board in 1995 and has served
as a board member and all the chairs of the executive committee.
During the upcoming months Larry hopes to establish a
level of confidence in board members and member agencies
that encourages open dialogue and a sense of shared responsibility
for the growth and success of the ARM organization. “We
want to develop an ARM-first culture where our member agents
challenge and hold accountable their state executives to
be creative and aggressive to build value,” Larry
says. “Every ARM agent should be comfortable
in asking, why can't ARM do that?” |
