Itasca,
Illinois (September 9, 2008) — In a turbulent economy,
maintaining revenues is a constant challenge—but
independent insurance agents are enjoying some relief.
With membership in Associated Risk Managers (ARM), independent
agents can share experiences, test new products and programs,
and use market clout toward greater efficiencies. Currently,
ARM boasts more than 240 members in 23 states—but
with dedicated efforts to grow the network, ARM management
expects those numbers will multiply.
According to ARM Chairman, Larry McSpadden, “ARM
attracts and encourages the industry’s top producers.
Dedicated leadership and results-driven initiatives help
sustain the organization’s growth.” Effective
June 1, 2008, Lewis Maddux joined with Danny Gleason to
promote and expand the Florida ARM membership. With extensive
property & casualty experience, and independent agency
relationships throughout the state, the two will fill in
Florida gaps, then use their expansion model to reach Georgia
and Tennessee. Other dedicated efforts extend to North
and South Carolina, where Dick Simmons and Bill McClure
have been making rounds to ARM candidate agencies.
The two have planned a series of “road trips”:
first, to provide information to prospective ARM members;
and secondly, to assess their needs and interests. "We
have been very well received there and have nearly 25 prospective
agencies at present with the Charlotte area yet to be recruited,” says
Dick Simmons the ARM Board Secretary/Treasurer and State
executive for ARM of Virginia. He has seen ARM’s
effectiveness at many levels. Bill McClure, principal of
the McClure Agency in New Jersey, and former member of
ARM’s Board of Directors, brings similar enthusiasm
for ARM membership advantages. |

While
efforts are currently focused in the South, ARM welcomes
expansion in all parts of the country. According to Danny
Gleason, CPCU, ARM South "we are looking for strong
agencies located in key economic centers throughout the
region. Agencies who know that by working with "partners" they
will achieve even greater success.”
