Associated Risk Managers International (ARMI) is proud to announce Scott Spangler and Rose Marie (Roe) Rigoni as this year’s ARM Robert E. Weaver Memorial Award winners. The Weaver Memorial Award is to recognize an individual who has performed special, meritorious and outstanding service on behalf of ARM.
They were awarded the designation at the ARM Annual National Conference, held May 1 – 4, 2018 at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, MA. Scott and Roe have served as the backroom for ARMI as ARM Partners, created in 1999 as a result of the partnership between ARMI and Gallagher.
“Scott and Roe are so deserving of this honor and their professionalism and dedication to ARM has been the backbone to our success” says Mary Pursell, current ARMI Chairman. “Even though their roles are changing, I am excited to continue our work together to bring ARM to the next level. If we aren’t changing, we aren’t growing!”
Scott had been the Executive Director of ARM since 2005 and continues to work closely with ARM leadership and the various state and regional ARM chapters and their Executive Directors. His primary responsibility is to manage and grow the ARM/RPS relationship and act as a liaison between ARM, RPS and Gallagher.
Roe became involved with ARM in 2000, shortly after ARM and Gallagher launched their partnership. She has served in an administrative role supporting the ARMI Board and Executive Directors, as well as planning the annual national conferences and fall board meetings, and providing marketing and communication support for ARMI.
“It’s such an honor to be this year’s recipient,” says Roe Rigoni. “I was surprised, flattered, and forever grateful to be in the same company as past winners Dick Simmons, Brenda Case, Dave McGurn and Janet Rogers. ARM is a wonderful organization, and I’ve gotten to know so many people in ARM over the years.”
Spangler states, “I considered Bob Weaver a good friend of mine, and a close business associate. It’s an honor to be the recipient of an award named after Bob, and an honor to be recognized by ARM, and extra special to be recognized at ARM’s national conference.”
The Robert E. Weaver Memorial Award is named for the late Bob Weaver, who passed away in 2012. Weaver was an Ohio agent who served as Chairman of both ARM of Ohio and ARM International. Following his time as Chairman, he continued to be a Director for both organizations and served as ARM International Secretary. In his two decades of ARM membership, Bob held positions on every ARM of Ohio and ARM national committee.
